Printed invoice with manuscript insertions from (Bryant) Barrett ‘(Late Basnell’s), Laceman, at the Goat,the corner of Craven Street, in the Strand, London’ for the supply of Velvet Livery Lace, Brocaded Clouded Gause (sic) etc to the Duke of Norfolk with large royal arms at head. Bryant Barrett (c 1715-1790) was a Catholic tradesman with a notable library of some 2,000 volumes. The Goat shop sign is recorded in ‘London Signs’ between 1728 and 1776. Strengthened at top and some discolouration at right margin.
