Circular regarding the London United Mining Co. which was ‘Among the numerous Bubble Joint Stock Companies which, to the disgrace of this country, reared their heads in 1824 & 1825’ listing the Directors (Benjamin Attwood, R.L. Chance, John Jones, James Lett, Colonel Landmann, A. Peyton Phelps & Edward Stewart), the Trustees (Captain Duberly & William Phelps) the Auditors (Matthias Attwood M.P. & I.F. Maubert) and the Bankers, Spooner Attwood & Co.. 6,000 of 10,000 shares were issued to work mines in Cornwall and 20 Writs issued against Subscribers for debts due to Cornish creditors. Printed by Pugh, 20 Great Nelson Street, City Road, London, and posted by G.P. Rufford to his father at Messrs Rufford & Co, Bromsgrove, with postmarks. Attwood, Spooner & Co. were bankers in Birmingham from 1790 to 1865 and Rufford, Bigg & Co, ran the Bromsgrove Bank from 1801 to 1851. Good condition.
