Ronald & Sons to Messrs Long & Bisby, Hamilton, Ontario, re business disruption resulting from the Franco-Prussian War- ‘The panic which the outbreak of the war occasioned in English wools has considerably subsided.. we can buy a fairish unwashed Abudia at 7d to 71/2d which makes up into a capital yarn’. 3d adhesive cancelled with Liverpool duplex and oval Paid A (Tabeart M15) applied at the Liverpool Foreign Office to the top letter in each bundle of paid letters going overseas. Endorsed ‘pr “Austrian”, an Allan Line steamship from Liverpool on 18th August 1870 to Quebec arriving in Hamilton on 30th August. Good condition.
