Ms invoice with engraved heading of rainbow and clouds printed for Isaac Argent, Wine & Spirit Merchant. The Rainbow was one of London’s earliest coffee houses located by the gate of the Inner Temple and prosecuted in 1657 for being ‘a great nuisance and prejudice to the neighbourhood’ ***
